Today, April 22, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mainly fallen by TRY 100/mt ($3-4/mt), amid sluggish demand and ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to Thursday, April 18. In addition, rebar spot prices in the Marmara region have remained stable on Turkish lira basis, with minor changes on US dollar basis. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,000-23,900/mt or $589-612/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.54.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $620/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $590-610/mt ex-works, versus $600-620/mt ex-works a week ago, while an additional discount is applicable for serious buyers only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 24,250/mt ($621/mt) ex-warehouse today.
Most local buyers are in wait-and-see mode as regards new purchases ahead of the Turkish central bank's interest rate decision due on Thursday, April 25.
