Today, November 30, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mostly increased by TRY 100/mt ($4/mt) compared to Monday, November 27, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations, while rebar spot prices in the Marmara region have fallen by TRY 100/mt ($2/mt). Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 20,100-20,700/mt or $581-598/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 28.85.
Icdas has today kept its official dollar-based rebar price unchanged at $580/mt ex-works. The general rebar price range varies at $580-605/mt ex-works in the Marmara and Izmir regions, stable since the beginning of this week.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 21,000/mt ex-works, equal to $607/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate. In addition, a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at TRY 20,800/mt ($601/mt) ex-warehouse.
Most Turkish mills are attempting to keep their local rebar prices stable due to the expected slowdown in trading activity in the export segment ahead of the holiday season.
