Today, January 29, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 200-300/mt ($1-4/mt), compared to Thursday, January 18, amid ongoing currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 22,600-23,100/mt or $621-634/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 30.35.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $640/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $630-645/mt ex-works, while slightly lower levels are applicable only for serious buyers.
One Iskenderun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 23,050/mt ($633/mt) ex-works for February delivery.
Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases amid adverse weather conditions, while monitoring the import scrap price trend.
