Today, February 15, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 200/mt ($4-5/mt), as compared to Monday, February 12, against the backdrop of ongoing currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,000-23,500/mt or $623-637/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 30.75.

Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $640/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $635-640/mt ex-works. According to sources, a $5-10/mt discount is applicable for serious buyers only.

Two mills in the Iskenderun region are offering their rebar prices at TRY 23,700/mt ($642/mt) ex-works. In addition, a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at TRY 23,500-23,600/mt ($637-640/mt) ex-warehouse.

Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases due to the adverse weather conditions. Sources report additional discounts are also available on rebar spot prices for serious buyers due to the sluggishness of demand.

As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
