Over the past two weeks, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their official export prices stable at $620-640/mt FOB amid ongoing high production costs and sluggish international demand. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $620-640/mt FOB, for late May-June shipment. A few merchant bar re-rollers are giving aggressive prices in order to generate sales, quoting below $620/mt FOB, SteelOrbis has heard.

The SteelOrbis daily Turkish import billet reference price stands at $515-545/mt CFR, versus $525-545/mt CFR two weeks ago.

"Buyers in the Balkan region were mostly on holiday due to Easter and the elections in North Macedonia. So, inquiries from the region may gain momentum next week," one source commented.
