Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices stable at $660-680/mt FOB. A few merchant bar re-rollers are even testing slightly higher levels. In addition, the uncertainty regarding freight rates due to geopolitical unrest are impeding possible sales to the Far East. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are mostly standing at $660-680/mt FOB, for late February-early March shipment.
Most merchant bar re-rollers are focusing on nearby markets in Europe and the Middle East.
The SteelOrbis daily Turkish billet import reference price stands at $545-565/mt, versus $540-550/mt a week ago.
