Over the past week, Turkish mills have cut their wire rod prices on average by $10-15/mt against the backdrop of weaker import scrap prices and sluggish demand. Sources report a few mills are applying aggressive pricing policies in order to generate sales before Ramadan and are offering additional discounts for serious buyers. As a result, a few mills are even testing prices below $620/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has heard.

One Iskenderun-based mill has also cut its wire rod price by $10/mt to $640/mt ex-works over the past week.
