Over the past week, Turkish mills have mostly kept their official wire rod prices stable, while wire rod prices in the Izmir region have risen only by $5/mt. A few mills are applying aggressive pricing strategies by taking the advantage of the ongoing currency fluctuations and are offering additional discounts to serious buyers only.

One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its wire rod price stable at $650/mt ex-works today, SteelOrbis has heard.

Kardemir is still offering its price for 6-27 mm SAE 1008-1010 wire rod at $645/mt ex-works today, stable compared to Wednesday, January 10.

Most buyers are not in a rush to restock and are only buying in line with their daily needs so far.
