Over the past two weeks, Turkish mills have mostly raised their official wire rod prices by $5-10/mt, while wire rod prices in the Iskenderun region have remained stable. A few mills are applying aggressive pricing strategies by taking the advantage of the ongoing currency fluctuations.

One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its wire rod price stable at $650/mt ex-works today, SteelOrbis has heard.

Kardemir is still offering its price for 6-27 mm SAE 1008-1010 wire rod at $645/mt ex-works today, stable compared to Wednesday, January 10.

Most buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases and are monitoring the import scrap price trend.
