Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their official export prices stable at $660-680/mt FOB. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $660-680/mt FOB, for March shipment. Sources report a few merchant bar re-rollers are applying aggressive pricing policies and even testing $640-650/mt FOB, depending on the region and the tonnage.

Most international buyers are exerting pressure for further discounts due to the relatively negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments. In addition, a few international buyers are giving counter-bids at $645-650/mt FOB, SteelOrbis has heard.

The SteelOrbis daily Turkish billet import reference price stands at $545-565/mt CFR, versus $545-570/mt CFR a week ago.
