Another ex-Belgium scrap sale to Turkey

Turkish steel producers have continued their scrap purchases, aiming to secure raw material stocks for part of the winter period. An ex-Belgium cargo consisting of 20,000 mt HMS I/II 75:25, 7,500 mt of HMS 1 and bonus grade, and of 5,000 mt of busheling scrap has been recently sold to an Iskenderun region-based Turkish mill at the average price of $262/mt CFR. According to the sources, the estimated level for HMS I/II 80:20 based on the sale is $260/mt CFR, in line with the price in the previous transaction closed by the same supplier to Turkey.

As a result, deep sea scrap prices remain unchanged in Turkey for now, thus strengthening sentiment among market players, who have been expecting the price levels in question.
