As of today, May 6, the general price range for ship scrap in Turkey stands at $375-395/mt, $5/mt lower on the upper end as compared to the levels recorded on April 22. The upper end is represented by the mills that are traditionally bigger players in the ship scrap segment, while mills such as Habas and IDC are keeping their prices at lower levels since they have also secured tonnages from the deep sea segment. Turkey’s ship scrap market is expected to remain relatively stable in the coming period.
