Turkey’s ship scrap market moves up

Since March 15, Turkey’s ship scrap market has recovered. Two Izmir-based steel producers have increased their prices by $11-12/mt today, March 26. Currently, the general price range for ship scrap in Turkey stands at $375-392/mt. The increases are the result of the upward movement observed in the deep sea scrap segment.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
