Turkey’s ship scrap market settles at $375-385/mt

As of today, May 31, the general price range for ship scrap in Turkey stands at $375-385/mt, $10/mt lower on the upper end as compared to early May levels. Due to the negative sentiments in the import scrap and finished steel markets, Turkish mills are exerting pressure on the ship scrap market.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
