Further declines have been recorded in Turkey’s ship scrap market this week. Three Izmir-based steel producers that are relatively more active in the market have announced similar prices after two of them reduced their prices by $10/mt today, March 6. As the upper end consolidates in a downward direction, the general price range is now at $375-390/mt, down $10/mt on the upper end. The downtrend is the result of the pressure exerted on the deep sea and short sea scrap segments by the Turkish producers.
