Turkish mills’ ship scrap purchase prices rise by $5/mt on upper end

Two Izmir-based Turkish producers have increased their ship scrap procurement prices by $5/mt, with the range of ship scrap purchase prices in Turkey thereby increasing on the upper end to $375-380/mt from $375/mt, for delivery to mill by truck. As Turkey’s import and domestic scrap quotations are moving up sharply in past weeks, some Izmir-based producers are taking action to secure ship scrap tonnages.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
