Izmir-based Turkish steel producers have increased their ship scrap purchase prices by $3-15/mt since Friday, January 12. The general ship scrap price range has moved up to $375-408/mt for delivery to mill by truck. The move is considered to have been made so that Turkish mills will secure sufficient tonnages and flow to their yards as import scrap prices remain firm.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer

Price ($/mt)

Özkan Demir Çelik

405

+15

Habaş

408

+3

Ege Çelik

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
