On June 27, SteelOrbis reported CIS basic steelmaking pig iron offers trending stable at $335-350/mt CFR US port or approximately $325-340/mt FOB Baltic Sea.

According to sources, with the global increases in billet, iron ore, and scrap prices along with the positive dynamics in the global flat steel markets, CIS offers for basic steelmaking pig iron have also trended up $15/mt and are being heard at $350-365/mt CFR US port.

Low-manganese or foundry grade pig iron offers were reported in late June at $370-380/mt FOB Baltic Sea or approximately $380-390/mt CFR US port. In early July, some offers were heard as low as $365/mt FOB Baltic Sea while the top range of the offers continued steady. The present range is reported again at $370-380/mt FOB Baltic Sea or $380-390/mt CFR US port.
