Buying activity in the Romanian seamless pipe market has not recovered yet after the summer holidays. Most Romanian producers have kept their domestic and export quotations of seamless pipes unchanged at previous levels due to the ongoing weakness of demand. Import offers of seamless pipes from the Czech Republic have gone down by a maximum of €10/mt ($13/mt) over the past month. However, market participants do not expect to see downward corrections in the coming month and they hope to raise their seamless pipe prices by €20-40/mt ($26-52/mt) on the back of an anticipated growth in raw material costs.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €870-900/mt ($1,143-1,182/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €900-920/mt ($1,182-1,209/mt) FCA, while 16" pipes are at levels of €970-1,050/mt ($1,274-1,380/mt) FCA.
Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €900-910/mt ($1,182-1,195/mt) CPT.
