The local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly showed slight declines during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have followed a stable trend with slight downticks during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak and certain areas have been influenced by cold weather which lead traders to choose to slightly reduce their quoted prices. Upstream billet prices have fluctuated, still supporting seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, demand may still be weak due to cold weather, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue to see a stable trend with slight downward tendency.

Chinese welded pipe prices have showed fluctuations in small margins during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream steel strips and other raw material prices have seen fluctuations at high levels which supported welded pipe prices. However, since demand is weak amid the approaching year-end period, certain traders choose to reduce their prices slightly. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue fluctuating with a possible decline.
