The local Chinese steel pipe prices have showed a stable trend with slight downticks during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have followed a stable trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has increased but still rather weak. Upstream billet prices and other raw material prices have rebounded which gives certain support to seamless pipe prices but most traders are willing to hold their prices stable in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may show small fluctuations.

Chinese welded pipe prices have moved sideways with slight decreases during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices have followed an upward trend but since demand is still weak, most traders slightly reduced their quoted prices in order to close more deals, while supply is at normal levels. As for the week ahead, considering that the support from cost side is getting strong, it is believed that welded pipe prices may follow a fluctuation trend with slight upticks.
