The Iranian welded pipe market has continued to weaken due to depressed demand amid subdued activity on construction projects and lower flat steel prices. Iranian mills have decreased their welded pipe prices by around $40/mt over the past month. Local stockists' prices have not indicate any significant movements over the period under review. Demand for welded pipes in Iran is not expected to recover in the coming period, and prices are likely to continue to fluctuate at low levels in consideration of lack of demand, lower prices in global markets and softening feedstock costs.
Iranian producers' current domestic prices for 6"-14" welded pipes with 2 mm wall thickness of grade B made to ASTM/API are at IRR 23.0-24.5 million/mt ($772-822/mt) ex-works.
Local stockists' prices for welded pipes of 1"-3" size from Iranian producers are at about $825-855/mt ex-warehouse, compared to $820-860/mt ex-warehouse one month ago. Offers of 20 x 20 mm - 100 x 100 mm hollow sections ex-warehouse Tehran are on average at $570-580/mt ex-warehouse, $5/mt higher compared to one month ago.
