Local Chinese steel pipe prices have indicated sideways or slightly downward movement during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have mostly softened by small margins during the past week amid some downticks in upstream billet prices. Overall trading activity has been weak. Meanwhile, traders have mostly reduced their quoted prices in order to close more deals towards the end of the month. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have followed a mostly stable trend during the past seven days, with some minor downticks seen too. Overall trading activity has been sluggish. Most traders hold a negative view of the market’s prospects but, since upstream steel strip prices have edged up, they have mainly kept their quoted prices stable for now. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may remain mostly stable, with some slight decreases also possible.
