The local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued a mostly downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued a declining trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has been at a low level since holiday. Upstream billet prices have followed a slightly upward trend but most traders still willing to slightly reduce their quoted prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may see a slightly rebounding trend since cost side is going upward.

Chinese welded pipe prices have fluctuated with slightly downward trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Upstream steel strip and other raw material prices recently have showed a rebounding trend which gives certain support to welded pipe prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may follow a slightly upward trend.
