Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly moved up slightly during the past week.
Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have moved up by small margins during the past week, supported by slight increases in billet prices. Overall trading activity has improved slightly but is still weak. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue their slight upward trend as demand continues to improve.
Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have indicated small fluctuations during the past week. Overall trading activity has been slack. Prices of steel strip and other raw materials have rebounded lately, causing some welded pipe prices to increase also. However, since demand has not fully recovered, certain traders also chose to cut their quoted prices by small margins in order to close more deals at the end of the month. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may increase by small margins.
