The local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly maintained an upward trend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued a slightly upward trend during the past week supported by minor increases in billet prices. Overall trading activity has been weak. Production volumes have been reduced amid slacker demand and rising costs. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may increase by small margins supported by costs.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have moved sideways or up slightly during the past week amid increases in prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity has weakened again due to the off-season, while many traders have chosen to keep their quoted prices stable in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.
