Brazil reduces import tariff for 251 capital goods

Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade, Camex, has reduced the import tariff of 251 capital goods from 14 percent to 2 percent.

According to Camex, the ad-valorem import tariff reduction is valid until December 31, 2017 for most capital goods including automated guided vehicles, CNC horizontal machines for metals as well as combinations of folding machines for pre-painted steel plates, among others.

Other capital goods have import tariffs reduced to 2 percent until December 31, 2016. Those include static converters, sets for train propulsion, electrical pneumatic machines, among others.
