China’s auto output and sales both top 1.1 million units in May

According to the official statistics for May, Chinese automakers produced 1.106 million motor vehicles in the month in question, up 29.60 percent year on year and down 4.56 percent month on month. Meanwhile, sales of China's domestically-produced vehicles in May reached 1.1197 million units, up 34.02 percent year on year and down 3.11 percent month on month - the third successive month in which sales exceeded one million units.

In the January-May period, China's production of motor vehicles totaled 4.8377 million units, up 11.10 percent year on year; meanwhile, vehicle sales in this period hit 4.9568 million, up 14.29 percent. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the current economic situation indicates that China's automobile industry is now developing in a positive direction.
