China’s crude steel output rises by 6.1 percent in Q1

In the January-March period this year, China’s outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel amounted to 219.83 million mt, 261.56 million mt and 332.59 million mt, increasing by 7.6 percent, 6.1 percent and 5.8 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In March alone, China’s outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel totaled 78.07 million mt, 95.73 million mt and 127.25 million mt, up 7.3 percent, 6.9 percent and 8.1 percent, respectively, year on year.
