China’s foreign trade value down 20.8 percent in February

In February this year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $219.697 billion, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 24.5 percent and a year-on-year decrease of 20.8 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on March 8. In the given month, the total value of China’s exports amounted to $126.145 billion, down 28.8 percent month on month and decreasing by 25.4 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $ 93.552 billion in value, down 17.8 percent month on month and declining by 13.8 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $32.592 billion.

In the January-February period of the current year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $510.728 billion, down 17.4 percent year on year, while the total value of China’s exports and imports amounted to $303.315 billion and $207.413 billion, down 17.8 percent and declining by 16.7 percent year on year, respectively, resulting in a trade surplus of $95.902 billion in the given period.
