China’s HRC imports soar dramatically in July

China's HR coil export volume in July stood at 168,100 mt, down 1.3194 million mt or 88.7 percent year on year, totaling a value of $94 million, down $1.298 billion or 93.27 percent compared with the same period last year. The average export price was $557.66/mt. Total January-July HR coil exports reached 917,800 mt, down 5.3065 million mt or 85.25 percent, amounting to a value of $657 million, down $4.466 billion or 87.18 percent year on year.

HR coil imports in July came to 520,500 mt, up 358,500 mt or 221.24 percent year on year, totaling a value of $311 million, up $129 million or 70.67 percent compared with the same period last year. The average HR coil import price was $597.6/mt. Total HR coil imports in the January-July period reached 2.9081 million mt, up 1.7525 million mt or 151.66 percent, amounting to $1.693 billion in value, up $438 million or 34.85 percent year on year.
