China’s manufacturing sector PMI rises to 50.9 in August

According to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, in August this year the purchasing managers index (PMI) of the domestic manufacturing sector in China was 50.9, slightly up by just 0.2 points month on month. The index had fallen for four consecutive months starting from April this year.
 
In August, the new order index for China's manufacturing sector was 51.1, neutral from the previous month, while the industrial production index rose slightly by 0.2 points from July to 52.3.
