According to the latest data reported by Chinese customs, in March China's total imports and exports of electro-mechanical products reached $89.54 billion, down 19.5 percent year on year, but up 26.2 percent compared with the previous month. During the month in question, exports were worth $53.76 billion, down 18.8 percent year on year and up 25.6 percent month on month, while imports came to $35.78 billion, down 20.5 percent year on year and up 13.5 percent month on month. In March foreign trade of electro-mechanical products posted a year-on-year decrease in value for the fifth consecutive month.

According to the above figures, imports and exports of Chinese electro-mechanical products registered an increase in March compared with the previous month, with a narrower year-on-year decrease - a sign that the export rebate policy and stimulus packages are taking effect.
