In September this year, China’s stainless steel imports amounted to 231,500 mt, up 32.59 percent month on month, while down 14.95 percent year on year, according to China’s customs authorities.
In September, China’s stainless steel exports totaled 343,000 mt, down 6.36 percent month on month, while up 22.11 percent year on year.
In the January-September period this year, China’s stainless steel imports and exports amounted to 1.3858 million mt and 3.4641 million mt, down 43.33 percent and 10.28 percent year on year, respectively.
In September, China’s net export volume of stainless steel amounted to 111,500 mt, down 41.78 percent month on month, while increasing by 1182.75 percent year on year. In the first nine months this year, China’s net export volume of stainless steel totaled 1.7223 million mt, up 69.11 percent year on year.
At the same time, in September China’s stainless steel scrap imports amounted to 22,100 mt, up 22.75 percent month on month, while rising by 106.3 percent year on year. In the January-September period this year, China’s stainless steel scrap imports reached 243,300 mt, up 307.83 percent year on year.
