In September this year, China's producer price index (PPI) increased by 0.1 percent year on year and was up 0.5 percent month on month, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 14. Meanwhile, in September Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 0.6 percent year on year and increased by 0.4 percent compared to August.
As for the average price index in the January-September period of the current year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 2.9 percent year on year, while Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 3.8 percent year on year.
In September this year, the PPI for capital goods increased by 0.1 percent year on year. Specifically, in September the PPI for the domestic raw material industry was down 0.2 percent, while the index for the processing industry rose by 0.1 percent, both year on year.
