China’s shipbuilding enterprises see gross profit of RMB 2.9 billion in Jan-Apr

In the first four months this year, 74 monitored shipbuilding enterprises in China registered an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 107.91 billion ($15.3 billion), up 29.0 percent year on year, while they posted a gross profit of RMB 2.9 billion ($0.41 billion), shifting from a loss to a profit, as announced by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).

In the January-April period this year, new shipbuilding orders held by China, South Korea and Japan accounted for 62.4 percent, 27.2 percent and 6.8 percent of overall new shipbuilding orders in the global market.
