In the January-July period this year, Colombia exported 86,573 mt of ferronickel, up 3.3 percent, with a value of $435.17 million, declining by 25.6 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In July, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 14,135 mt, increasing by 50.4 percent, and were worth $52.28 million, down by 35.2 percent, both year on year.
In the January-July period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 129,349 mt, decreasing by 1.8 percent, with a value of $530.33 million, down by 24.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In July, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 21,706 mt, up by 50.8 percent, and were worth $66.01 million, falling by 28.9 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
