In the January-August period this year, Colombia exported 101,596 mt of ferronickel, up 5.5 percent, with a value of $500.5 million, declining by 24.6 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In August, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 15,022 mt, increasing by 19.7 percent, and were worth $65.3 million, down by 16.9 percent, both year on year.
In the January-August period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 151,006 mt, remaining stable, with a value of $611.6 million, down by 23.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In August, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 21,657 mt, up by 12.0 percent, and were worth $81.3 million, falling by 16.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
