Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) has received a proposal to merge its Sepetiba Tecon terminal.
According to a media report, container shipping operator TCP and logistics company TCP Log have proposed a merger for the CSN asset.
According to the proposal, CSN, along with the TCP companies, would jointly operate the terminal.
Brazilian newspaper Valor said CSN’s stake in the proposed merger didn’t sound appealing to the Brazilian steelmaker, which is looking to divest from non-core assets. The Sepetiba Tecon is a container terminal located in the bay of Sepetiba at the Itaguaí port, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
