Ukraine's Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant, the mini-mill previously known as ISTIL, intends to restart its production operations in the second half of September, the head of the company's supervisory board, Alexander Babikov, has stated.
According to Mr. Babikov, in September Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant plans to produce 63,000 mt of square billets, of which 50,000 mt will be exported, while in October the plant's billet output is planned to reach 90,000 mt. Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant stopped operations at the end of July this year. After the changes in its senior management, the plant received floating funds, restarted scrap and other raw material acquisitions, and began to prepare to recommission its operations.
Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant specializes in the production of round billets of special grades, and also in the production of continuous cast round and square billets.
