Gujarat, India-based steelmaker Essar Steel has announced that its Pune facility in Maharashtra has achieved its highest-ever monthly production and sales volumes in March this year. In March, the Pune facility produced 59,579 mt of finished steel, increasing by 117 percent month on month, while its total finished steel sales went up by 112 percent to 60,079 mt compared to the previous month.
In particular, in March the company’s pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil production at the Pune facility reached 31,316 mt, up 161 percent, while the plant’s rolled steel output increased by 66 percent to 48,120 mt and galvanized steel output rose by 71 percent to 38,311 mt, all compared to February.
