In February this year, new car registrations totaled 1,056,902 units in the European Union (EU), with an increase of 14.3 percent year on year, marking the 30th consecutive month of year-on-year growth, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In February, Italy (+27.3%), France (+13%), Spain (+12.6%) and Germany (+12%) were the major EU markets which recorded increases in new car registrations on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in the January-February period new passenger car registrations in the EU increased to 2,118,273 units, up 10.1 percent year on year. In this period, Italy saw an increase of 22.6 percent and Spain saw a rise of 12.4 percent, while new passenger car registrations in the France rose by 8.7 percent, with registrations in Germany rising by 7.8 percent and with registrations in UK up 4.7 percent, all year-on-year basis.
