European commercial vehicle registrations up 31.8 percent in August

In August this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 31.8 percent year on year to 150,425 units, rising for the twentieth consecutive month on year-on-year basis, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). 
 
In August of the current year, growth was sustained in all major markets. Italy (+105.9%) confirmed its positive momentum by displaying a substantial rise, followed by Germany (+42.6%), Spain (+19.5%) and France (+16.8%). 
 
In the first eight months of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled about 1.5 million units, up 14.3 percent on year-on-year basis. Italy (+39.4 percent), Spain (+12.9 percent), Germany (+12.1 percent), France (+11.8 percent) and the UK (+2.7 percent) recorded increases, all year on year.
