Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in 2017 totaled RMB 877.56 billion ($136.5 billion), up 7.9 percent year on year, with a total of 35,652 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 27.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in December alone FDI in China amounted to RMB 73.94 billion ($11.5 billion), down 9.2 percent year on year, with a total of 4,837 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 36.5 percent year on year.
