France’s manufacturing output falls 0.7% in Apr from Mar

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in April this year decreased by 0.7 percent compared to March, following a revised month-on-month increase of 1.4 percent recorded in the previous month.
 
In the first quarter of this year, France's manufacturing production fell slightly by 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter, and was down 1.8 percent year on year.
 
In April, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 1.1 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased slightly by 0.3 percent, while the output of the construction industry increased by 2.3 percent, all compared to the previous month.
