According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in March this year increased by 1.4 percent compared to February, following a revised month-on-month decrease of 0.9 percent recorded in the previous month.
In the first quarter of this year, France's manufacturing production fell slightly by 0.5 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
In March, France's production in manufacture of metals and metal products rose by 1.5 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 4.7 percent, while the output of the construction industry increased by 17.8 percent, all compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, France's automobile production fell by 2.8 percent compared to February.
In the first quarter, France's production in manufacture of metals and metal products fell by 0.2 percent, automobile production fell by 1.9 percent, while the output of the construction industry decreased by 4.6 percent, all compared to the same quarter of the previous year. On the other hand, the production of the country's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 0.9 percent year on year.
