France's manufacturing output in December last year decreased by 0.8 percent month on month, after a 0.6 percent month-on-month increase in November, and rose by 1.7 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the October-December period, France’s manufacturing output indicated an increase of 0.4 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In December, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.2 percent compared to November, after a month-on-month increase of 0.6 percent in November. In the October-December period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in December production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a drop of 3.7 percent on month-on-month basis after a 1.7 percent month-on-month increase recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by 1.6 percent month on month in December, after an increase of 1.2 percent in November from October. In the October-December period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 0.8 percent and output of the domestic construction industry remained stable, both quarter on quarter.
