According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in January this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €804 million, increasing by 0.47 percent year on year.
During the period in question, France exported €145.88 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 5.6 percent, €40.52 million of cold rolled steel strip - down 5.3 percent, €29.78 million of cold drawn wire - down 9.8 percent, €28.68 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 0.66 percent, and €59.79 million of metal structures and parts - up 58 percent, all compared to January 2014.
Meanwhile, in January this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €638.35 million in value, down 12.5 percent year on year.
During the given month, France imported €112.75 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 11.6 percent, €41.6 million of cold rolled steel strip - down 12.4 percent, €33.17 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 4.3 percent, €32.19 million of cold drawn wire - down 6.8 percent, and €69.44 million of metal structures and parts - down 41.1 percent, all compared to the same month of the previous year.
