According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first seven months of 2010 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €5.6 billion, increasing by 26.2 percent year on year.
In the January-July period of this year, France exported €1.07 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 13.96 percent, €192.68 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 47.82 percent, €295.68 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 11.69 percent, €194.75 million of cold drawn wire - up 40.72 percent, €478.87 million of metal structures and parts - up 13.24 percent, all compared to January-July 2009.
Meanwhile, in the period in question France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €5.36 billion, up 33.14 percent year on year.
During the given period, France imported €844.59 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 8.6 percent, €202.31 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 35.02 percent, €323.42 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 30.26 percent, €220.54 million of cold drawn wire - up 20.37 percent, and €748.12 million of metal structures and parts - up 12.29 percent, all compared to the first seven months of the previous year.
