France’s steel product import value down 18.2 percent in Jan-August

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-August period this year France’s basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €7.56 billion, decreasing by 18.2 percent year on year.

In the given period, France imported €1.46 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 9.6 percent, €379.7 million of cold rolled steel bars - down by 10.9 percent, €602.3 million of cold rolled steel strip - dropping by 21.5 percent, €374.2 million of cold drawn wire - falling by 24.0 percent, and €1.77 billion of metal structures and parts - decreasing by 8.1 percent, all compared to the same period of last year.
